Chapter 1: Long Decents

I'm Aliyah Glass, and my sister is Valentina Glass. We'd lived in Nevada for the longest time in our life. We where happy until our father began cheating on our mother behind our backs when Valentine and I where five. Mom eventually found out, but it took her awhile because she was always on secret missions and stuff. She worked for the FBI, and was trained to help the world! She was always gone for long times having meetings and stuff. We thought it was the best, but dad just saw it as a time to go see Amelia Nickelson, hid co-worker for Markason Industries. My mother took us and left, wuthout giving dad a single word. After that we moved cross country, all the way to Virginia. We lived in a log cabin, and me and Valentine where always sad and scared but mother always made us feel better. Sometimes mysterious men in black suits came to our house, asking for "Miss Joanne Tayme". Our mom left us then, and a nice man named Luke would come to see us. Mom and him  hanged out a lot, and finally they became engaged! Our life was awesome then, we where the Glass twins. Mother Joanne Glass and father Lucas Glass. Then we moved when me and Valentine where this age now, 14, to Miami Florida to start a new life. And surely, it was frightening. More frightening than moving to Virginia.

We moved to the rich people's town. We would be judged, battered, and treated like ragdolls.I never would understand it. I never can. I walk around Marianne's High School for the Gifted. I was there for who knows what. I bet my mom enrolled us there because we where rich enough to, and she thought we where talented.

Walking down the beautiful halls of the school, pictures of young kids meeting presidents and principals meeting their "now famous" pupils. Beautiful paintings and puzzling abstract arts where on the walls, and school academic trophies where cased on marble podiums, as well as sculptures and scientific creations or artifacts. In my opinion, this hall was more of a museum than a school hallway. It was called "Grand Blue Hallway", and all the students  trudged through the hallways for their next classes. Me and Valentina where in the same homeroom, and I suppose our homeroom was for the "to be decided" kids. We where shoved with other people our age, fourteen and living the dream. Yes, I decide that's what I'll call all the proper brats in the school. Even they looked fabulous in our ugly and repulsive school clothes. Yellow and green plaid skirts with a skin tight bright yellow sweater with white collars and a green emblem for the school. Most of the kids wore green and yellow plaid bows in their hair, and looked stunning. I thought I looked hideous, but dear Valentina looked like the prettiest girl in class.

"Hi there!" Said a peppy young girl. She had frighteningly curly bright blonde hair and crazy looking lime green eyes. "We're the prep team!" she had two pretty girls behind her with long bangs and blueish black looking hair. Their eyes where a dark blue also. "And we're here to help you get started!" The quiet girls in the background nodded in approval. "Hey!" said a hurt sounding voice from behind. "I was supposed to introduce the new kids!" A beautiful girl with orangeish pinkish looking hair that was as long to the backs of her knees, and pretty sunset orange eyes. Fake. Fourteen and living the dream. "Come on..." I said, tugging Valentine's arm. "Let's go find our desk." "Yeah.." she stammered. We walked away.
